“Musically deep, artistically surreal – “Wanting Miss Julie” Is exciting to see!”- The Geek Authority

Wanting Miss Julie is a musical deconstruction of August Strindberg’s play, Miss Julie, set in the Hamptons in the present day.  Julie is a stunning, smart and dangerous young woman, looking for some sign that her powerful father is vulnerable to her twisted machinations. Her escalating defiance enmeshes John, a rising young MBA in her father’s firm, and their torrid affair spirals out of control, unfolding a realty that rivals any fantasy – hopeful or fearsome.

Bipolar songwriter Hannah Johnson lands in a psychiatric hospital due to her little habit of attempting suicide. Dr. Joan Ward leads a group therapy session with Hannah and the other residents—various “madwomen” from history—Vivien Leigh, Zelda Fitzgerald, Camille Claudel, Mary Todd Lincoln, and Juana “La Loca” of Castile. When the doctor role-plays the famous men in their lives, the patients confront passions that drive them to the brink of madness. The historic women remain undone, but Hannah begins to heal. She accepts her disorder and embraces treatment. She leaves her pop star boyfriend who took advantage of her talent. Now she will sing her own song.

High School baseball phenom Jack Cusack’s world is turned upside down when a biographical play he wrote is discovered, revealing his sexual orientation.

Guided by the spirit of Anthony Comstock, the notorious turn-of-nineteenth-century rightwing social reformer, forces of evil conspire against Jack resulting in social ostracism, bullying, and a final outcome far more sinister. The musical was inspired by recent events in high schools across the country.
